El polvo de precapa es un material fino e inerte —generalmente hecho de celulosa, tierra diatomea u otros compuestos similares—que se usa en los sistemas de recolección de polvo para proteger los filtros y mejorar su rendimiento. This layer acts as a protective barrier, preventing fine or sticky particles from embedding directly into the filter media, which helps extend filter life and maintain airflow.
Precoat powder also serves as a conditioning feed in ongoing operations, especially when handling oily, damp, or resinous dusts that could otherwise clog or blind the filters. Regular use of precoat powder improves cleaning efficiency, reduces differential pressure, and ultimately leads to fewer filter changeouts and lower operating costs.
