In fact, many facilities begin the quoting process without knowing exactly what collector, fan, duct size, or filter media they need.<\/p><p>What the RFQ does need to do is give qualified suppliers enough information to understand the application, identify what still needs to be engineered, and clearly define who is responsible for each part of the project.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a21b464 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"a21b464\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c4517d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2c4517d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Start With the Process and What You Are Trying to Accomplish<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b00ba6c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b00ba6c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Often, we receive an RFQ that begins with something like: \u201cWe need a 20,000 CFM baghouse. Please quote.\u201d That may be enough to start a conversation, but it is usually not enough to obtain a meaningful project quote. <strong>Beware of sales reps that give you a quote for a dust collector out of a catalog without knowing exactly what you need.<\/strong><\/p><p>A good dust collection system provider would ask you&#8230;Why 20,000 CFM? Where does that air need to be collected? How many pickup points operate simultaneously? What material is being collected? What temperature will enter the collector? Should the RFQ Include Hoods and Pickup-Point Design?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-74ed15a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"74ed15a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A system can have an excellent dust collector and still perform poorly if the dust isn&#8217;t captured at its source.<\/p><p>Specify whether the owner will provide the hood design, or the dust collection supplier is responsible for designing the capture points. Plants frequently modify ductwork over the years.
