Se incrementa la potencia de un horno, se reducen los tiempos de fusi\u00f3n, se aumenta el amperaje, se agregan nuevos quemadores o se incrementa la capacidad de producci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, se espera que el colector de polvo siga funcionando como si nada hubiera cambiado. Cuando se analiza la producci\u00f3n desde esta perspectiva, resulta evidente lo r\u00e1pido que un colector puede superar las condiciones para las que fue dise\u00f1ado originalmente.<\/p><p>Un colector se dise\u00f1a considerando principalmente dos factores: el volumen de gas y la carga de polvo. <strong>El volumen de gas est\u00e1 relacionado con el balance t\u00e9rmico del horno, mientras que la carga de polvo se refiere a la cantidad de part\u00edculas transportadas por cada pie c\u00fabico de aire.<\/strong> Si un cambio en el proceso incrementa la carga de polvo, el colector ahora debe manejar m\u00e1s part\u00edculas sin contar necesariamente con m\u00e1s \u00e1rea de filtraci\u00f3n, mayor capacidad del ventilador o mayor capacidad de descarga.<\/p><p>Cuando esto sucede, los equipos de planta suelen observar los mismos s\u00edntomas: <a href=\"https:\/\/baghouse.com\/es\/how-to-maintain-and-operate-your-dust-collector-using-differential-pressure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Aumento de la presi\u00f3n diferencial.<\/strong><\/a> Incremento en el consumo energ\u00e9tico del motor del ventilador. Menor succi\u00f3n en el horno. \u00c1reas de trabajo m\u00e1s polvorientas y con m\u00e1s humo. Esto permite realizar coladas m\u00e1s grandes porque se dispone de m\u00e1s espacio para la carga. Sin embargo, las coladas m\u00e1s grandes generan m\u00e1s humos y pueden sobrecargar el colector.<\/p><p>Tambi\u00e9n introducen otro riesgo operativo: las fugas. Cuando el agua se filtra hacia los paneles o ductos, puede formarse una capa h\u00fameda de polvo sobre los filtros. Esto incrementa la presi\u00f3n diferencial y obliga al sistema de limpieza a trabajar con mayor frecuencia. El calor y la humedad pueden provocar hidr\u00f3lisis en los filtros de poli\u00e9ster y debilitar los filtros. Adem\u00e1s, el polvo puede acumularse en el ventilador, provocando vibraciones y mantenimiento m\u00e1s frecuente.\n\nDesde el punto de vista del mantenimiento, este es uno de esos problemas que parece estar relacionado con los filtros... pero en realidad se trata de un problema de proceso y humedad.<\/p><h2>Procesos de escoria espumosa<\/h2><p>Los procesos de escoria espumosa utilizan coque fino u otras fuentes de carbono para crear una capa de escoria sobre el ba\u00f1o met\u00e1lico y conservar el calor del horno. Desde el punto de vista de la producci\u00f3n, puede ser una estrategia muy efectiva.\n\nSin embargo, desde el punto de vista del control de polvo, la ubicaci\u00f3n de la inyecci\u00f3n es fundamental. Si este material se inyecta demasiado cerca del sistema de extracci\u00f3n de aire, la carga de polvo puede aumentar y part\u00edculas de coque sin quemar pueden ser arrastradas hacia el colector. Esto no solo genera un problema de carga de polvo, sino tambi\u00e9n un <a href=\"https:\/\/baghouse.com\/es\/combustible-dust-hazards-prevention-protection-technologies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>riesgo de incendio.<\/strong><\/a> Lo ideal es que la inyecci\u00f3n se realice en el lado opuesto a la campana de absorci\u00f3n de aire.<\/p><h2>Aumento del tama\u00f1o del transformador<\/h2><p>Los transformadores m\u00e1s grandes permiten fundir m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido al suministrar m\u00e1s energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica al horno. Al igual que sucede con los quemadores de ox\u00edgeno, una fusi\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida implica generar m\u00e1s polvo en menos tiempo. Esto suele ser una de las formas m\u00e1s econ\u00f3micas de aumentar la capacidad productiva, especialmente en fundiciones antiguas donde el espacio f\u00edsico es limitado y las grandes inversiones de capital son dif\u00edciles de justificar.<\/p><p>Pero aumentar el amperaje no solo afecta la producci\u00f3n de metal. Tambi\u00e9n incrementa el volumen de gas, la temperatura del gas y las emisiones de fluoruro de hidr\u00f3geno (HF).\n\nEl mayor volumen y temperatura del gas introducen m\u00e1s humedad y aire de diluci\u00f3n al sistema de depuraci\u00f3n.
