Once stabilized, the material can be managed safely as part of the site\u2019s disposal process.<\/p><p>According to Dominick Dal Santo of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/Baghouse.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baghouse.com<\/a><\/strong>, the project started with a design role. That package included:<\/p><ul><li>\u29bf Two reagent storage silos<\/li><li>\u29bf Two bin vent dust collectors<\/li><li>\u29bf Two auger screw conveyors<\/li><li>\u29bf Two slide gates<\/li><li>\u29bf Truck unloading piping<\/li><\/ul><p>The project also included engineering support for commissioning and training.<\/p><p>Dominick described the original design goal in very practical terms:\u00a0<strong>\u201cThey had worked with somebody else at a different plant, and they had a very complicated system for the dust collection. And they asked us to simplify it and recommend all the specifications for the dust collection system.\u201d<\/strong> That became one of the defining features of the project&#8230; Baghouse.com designed a straightforward system that fit the building and the process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25db134 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"25db134\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-274a641 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"274a641\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Soluci\u00f3n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9fb0c9d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9fb0c9d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The final design used three identical pulse-jet baghouses, one dedicated to each mixing bay. Each system was designed for\u00a0<strong>25,000 ACFM<\/strong>\u00a0and built around a\u00a0<strong>Baghouse.com 144TB-BHT-270<\/strong>\u00a0collector. Each collector included:<\/p><ul><li><strong>\u29bf 270 filter bags<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf 5,258 square feet of filter media<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf 16 oz singed polyester bags with PTFE membrane<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf 6-inch diameter x 144-inch long bags<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf 270 galvanized 12-wire cages<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf Air-to-cloth ratio of 4.75:1 at 25,000 ACFM<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf Top-load filter access<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf Heavy-duty all-welded construction<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf NEMA 4 control panel<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf Dwyer DCT2010 clean-on-demand capable controller with 4\u201320 mA output<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf 18 premium long-life 1.5-inch pulse valves<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf 72 inches of hopper discharge clearance<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf OSHA access ladder, handrail, and service platform<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>The fans were\u00a0<strong>New York Blower backward inclined Class 4 SWSI fans<\/strong>, each paired with a\u00a0<strong>100 HP motor<\/strong>, sized for the 25,000 CFM duty at the required static pressure.<\/p><p>On the reagent side, Baghouse.com supplied two legged, smooth-wall storage silos, each sized at roughly\u00a0<strong>169 tons nominal capacity<\/strong>, with:<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/baghouse.com\/es\/bin-vents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u29bf Bin vent collectors<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/baghouse.com\/es\/products\/conveying-systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u29bf Screw conveyors<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><strong>\u29bf Pneumatic slide gates<\/strong><\/li><li>\u29bf Truck unloading piping<\/li><li>\u29bf Ladder, platform, guardrail, and level probes<\/li><\/ul><p>The bin vents themselves were compact pulse-jet units designed for\u00a0<strong>600 ACFM max per system<\/strong>, using pleated filters and differential pressure-based control.<\/p><p>Together, these systems gave the facility both source capture over the mixing operations and dedicated storage\/venting support for the dry reagent side of the process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-acb3188 was simple, the project still had its share of engineering challenges.<\/p><p>One of the more important issues involved seismic and structural design for the area. The Beatty site required careful attention to foundation and stack requirements, especially for the tall exhaust stacks and elevated collectors. During the project, Baghouse.com had to revise the exhaust stack design to make it more robust and suitable for local conditions.<\/p><p>Dominick noted that this was one of the bigger hurdles:\u00a0<strong>\u201cAfter the project was in motion, we had to change the specification for how to design the exhaust stack&#8230; this place has tons of earthquakes, right? So they\u2019re really picky about how you design the foundations.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><p>The team also had to make changes to the collector support height later in the project. According to Dominick, <strong>\u201cAt the last minute, they asked us to raise the baghouses up. So we had to make them taller and redo the engineering so that, again, they were rated for the earthquake ratings in the area.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><p>Another challenge was project timing. The reagent silo package was added after the main dust collection project was already underway, which meant integrating additional equipment without disrupting the broader schedule.
